Empowering efficiency through smart eCommerce integration
Biomass Spares Online engaged with Flourish to review and optimise their existing Shopify setup as part of a broader goal to streamline eCommerce operations. The business, a leading supplier of biomass boiler parts and accessories, needed to improve both the user experience on-site and the flow of data into their internal systems.

 

Flourish began with a full audit of the deployed Shopify environment, reviewing performance, visual merchandising, and product discovery/performance. Several opportunities were identified to enhance usability and conversion. The first of these actioned was the task of replacing and improving the on-site product search functionality.

Following analysis, the search functionality was upgraded to Doofinder, a smart, AI-driven search tool that delivers predictive results within three characters and offers a significantly more engaging, image driven product discovery experience. Via the Doofinder dashboard, there are also options to prioritise certain products that are know best sellers or always in stock items to drive conversion. All this and a saving on existing commercials too!

 

Post delivery of audit findings, the wider objective prioritised by the team at Myriad was to connect Shopify with the company’s SIMpro ERP. The brief was primarily eliminating manual re-entry of customer, product, and order data whilst improving efficiency around order processing.

Flourish researched the requirement and evaluated multiple 'off the shelf' integration vendors and several  potential bespoke integration developers for the task, against a defined set of business requirements agreed with the team at Myriad.

The recommendation after this period of research was selecting a proven “off-the-shelf” solution that could deliver reliable, bi-directional data flow between Shopify & ERP.

From there, Flourish managed the implementation and testing process end-to-end, coordinating between vendor teams based in southern Asia and internal order and finance departments at Myriad in the UK. This process ensured the integration met functional and operational needs.

The result was a seamless link between Shopify and SIMpro, reducing duplication, improving accuracy, and freeing staff time for higher-value tasks.
